Laiboni School

About Us

Laiboni School is a primary school located in the Maasai village of Laiboni, in northern Tanzania. Prior to its creation, the children of Laiboni had to risk a trip of many kilometers across dangerous roads and near dangerous wild animals to attend school. In 2009, East African Voyage, a local tour operator, started partnering with the village to provide cultural activities for its clients and community development projects for the community. Out of this partnership, Laiboni School was born, providing free primary education for the community.

Today, Laiboni School has 150 students from kindergarten through Form 7. Without the school, many children in the community would not get even a basic primary education. In the future, the school will expand its facilities to serve more students and will start a sponsorship program to help support its graduates in continuing to secondary education.
