Foundation for Peace

  • About Us

The FOUNDATION FOR PEACE is a 501(c)(3) not-for profit organization dedicated to education in the United States and to working hand in hand with people in materially impoverished areas of the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Kenya to provide educational support, healthcare access, economic opportunity and hope. We work together as long-term partners in solidarity to enable personal success and community achievement. We believe this will result in sustainable and successful initiatives that relieve the effects of poverty, encourage personal growth, and overcome injustice.

In December 2003, the Foundation for Peace was officially incorporated, growing out of yearly mission trips that began at the National Presbyterian Church. Due to increasing demand to accommodate more people and to meet the year round needs of the Dominicans, Haitians, and Kenyans, we now accommodate both church and non-church groups. These trips are multi-faceted, focusing on developing partnerships with the local people and including construction, medical care and educational activities. Across the three countries, our mission teams and in-country staff are primarily focused on education, clean water and healthcare. In 2011, more than 850 volunteers traveled abroad to serve.
