About Us

"The AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN promotes equity for all women and girls, lifelong education, and positive societal change".

The AAUW Educational Foundation provides funds to advance education, research, and self-development for women and to forster equity and psotive societal change.

The AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund provides funding and a support system for women seeking judicial redress for gender discrimination.

AAUW, founded in 1881, is open to all graduates who hold the baccalaureate or high degree from a regionally accredited college or univrsity. There are currently 160,000 members who are student affiliates, members of one of the 1600 branches nationwide or members-at-large. Female members of AAUW are automatically members of the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN.
