Dance Legacies Worldwide

Dance Legacies Worldwide (DLW) is an organization committed to sustaining the ongoing preservation, creative growth, and resource accessibility of longstanding dance traditions worldwide. Through interrelated projects DLW will create innovative digital products designed to enhance the life and ongoing education of dancers. This includes app development, documentation, field research, exhibition design, and accessibility through museums, major archives and new technologies building a gateway to the digital humanities. In addition, DLW is a portal to dance resources that include the allied arts (music, visual art, literature), ideas, and history. DLW acts by engaging young dancers through guided conversation, cultural and artistic exposure, and historical connection promoting new ways of learning to see; ways of learning to think. DLW emphasizes critical thinking about dance, the importance of reading comprehension and practical application, and individual discovery through historical reference.
