YWCA New Britain Sexual Assault Crisis Service

Our volunteer opportunity consists of taking our 8 week, 48 hour state certification to become a state certified crisis counselor. Once certified, you will be helping on our 24/7 crisis hotline helping survivors of sexual violence in crisis, as well as their loved ones. We also provide accompaniments to the hospital, police department, and court house.

Some additional services we provide survivors of sexual violence in our community are support groups. We also go into schools for prevention education presentations.
