About Us
CooperRiis is a Therapeutic Healing Community located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina near Asheville. We provide individualized, comprehensive mental health recovery services for individuals coping with bi-polar or manic depressive disorder, schizophrenia, schzo-affective disorder, including paranoid, disorganized and undifferentiated types, and substance abuse.
Our staff help to meet the individual recovery needs of over 100 residents program-wide. A work program in the areas of gardening, woodworking, housekeeping, kitchen and bakery, office and computer tasks, and community service is the foundation of the program. Staff also help to provide life enhancing arts and recreational activities within a nurturing environment embued with an atmosphere of kindness where everyone feels a sense of belonging.
