  • About Us

For 25 years Connecticut Fund for the Environment has been the state's nonprofit legal champion for the environment. CFE has been working to improve air and water quality, minimize the negative impacts of highways, preserve open space, wetlands and public water supplies since 1978. We have rescued thousands of acres of open space, helped reduce or eliminate toxic contamination of natural resources, built coalitions to fight for clean air and endangered lands, and taken polluters to court — and won. We have worked to safeguard the forests, farmlands and wetlands that contribute so much to the character of the state.
