Gender Action for Peace and Security

London, LND, United Kingdom

  • About Us

Gender Action for Peace and Security (GAPS) is an expert working group of peace and development NGOs, academics and grassroots peace builders. Through collective research, advocacy and campaigning, GAPS promotes, facilitates and monitors the meaningful inclusion of gender perspectives in all aspects of UK policy and practice on peace and security. A key function of GAPS is to bring together the organizations in the UK working in this area and to present a coordinated approach to external partners such the UK government. We work to bridge the gap between the realities of women at the local level in conflict and post-conflict regions and UK decision makers and practitioners working on peace and security, particularly UN SCR 1325 (2000) and the UK National Action Plan on women, peace and security.
