  • About Us

Union City Music Project (UCMP) is a bilingual educational organization that uses music as a vehicle for social change for low-income children in the mostly urban Hudson County, NJ, through low-cost after school orchestral and vocal instruction and performances of UCMP’s Children’s Orchestra and Chorus. By providing at-risk pre-K to 7th graders with free instruments and low-cost orchestral instruction by professional music teachers, and engaging their parents in their musical training, UCMP cultivates self-esteem, self-expression, cooperative learning, and academic excellence that empower our urban communities to rise above the cycle of poverty.
