Good Shepherd Communities

Good Shepherd Communities is a Christian-focused ministry serving people with developmental disabilities and other disabling conditions. Since its beginnings 46 years ago, Good Shepherd has grown to serve nearly 1,000 people in residential homes, apartment programs and supported living settings in California, Colorado, Oregon and Washington. Clients range in age from 14-years-old to 89.In the various states, long term care and training for clients is provided in residential homes with emphasis on development of self-help, communication and social sklls. Other clients live in Good Shepherd apartments and receive 1-20 hours per week of support in meal planning, money management, etc. Still others live in non-Good Shepherd apartments and their own homes, and contract with the organization for 1-24 hours of services per day. The goal of all the programs is to help people with disabilities live life to the fullest, with dignity.
