Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service (MVLS) is a statewide legal services organization that connects low-income Marylanders with volunteer lawyers and community partners to deliver free civil legal assistance because there should be justice for all, not just for those who can afford it. Our volunteers also provide free legal help to community-based nonprofits that are working to strengthen low-income communities in Maryland.
Each eligible client is matched with a volunteer lawyer who has the appropriate skills and expertise to provide quality representation. With a volunteer pool of 1,800 lawyers, MVLS volunteers provide legal services in every jurisdiction in Maryland.
MVLS’s vision is that all low and moderate-income Marylanders will have access to civil legal representation and legal resources needed to protect individual dignity, family, and home.
