Nieu-Bethesda Primary Education Support

Nieu-Bethesda is a remote, impoverished village in the arid Great Karoo.

Alcoholism is rife, with all it's accompanying problems including domestic violence, malnutrition, TB and AIDS.

The local primary school is poorly staffed and resourced, resulting in many children entering high school unable to read and write.

The main aim of the volunteer program is to prepare the children for high school entry by giving extra lessons. Important secondary aims are to impart basic life skiils and produce role models for the community.
