Jovenes Unidos

Jovenes Unidos, the youth branch of Padres Unidos, is a grassroots, student-led group that organizes for justice and equality in communities and schools. Padres and Jovenes Unidos organize to build power among people of color, poor and working people, women and youth to win change for excellence in public education, immigrant rights, workers rights, in other areas relevant to our membership. Our strategies include: developing members’ organizing skills and critical analysis through training and political education; building strategic alliances; and reframing the public debate on creating school reform to improve the quality of education in low-performing inner-city schools, and defending the right to bilingual education in Colorado.
