  • About Us

The Early Stimulation Centre (ESC) is a section of the Department of Occupational Therapy of the Mengo Hospital in Kampala, Uganda. The ESC is an outpatient center that focuses on two different audiences. One of them are young children (from the age of 3 months) with physical disabilities in particular. These children receive individual therapy given by the occupational therapist working in the department. Besides this group of patients, there is a treatment group for children with learning disabilities and behavioral problems like autism, concentration problems or problems with toilet training. These children follow a structured day program and work on individual goals, set by the therapist in collaboration with the parents.
