    The mission of the Lower Ninth Ward Living Museum is to provide an educational space that promotes empowerment through remembering the past, sharing stories of the present, and planning for the future.

    The L9 Living Museum shares the unique and rich history of the region with specific emphasis on resistance and activism. Exhibits include an early escaped slave colony, the slave revolt of 1811, the isolation of the Lower Ninth Ward in the 1920s, school desgregation efforts in the 1960s, and experiences of Hurricanes Betsy and Katrina.
