The Tapestry Project

The Tapestry Project is a nonprofit organization with the mission of incubating several charter elementary schools in New York City. The schools will be independent in their design and management but will share two common features: diversity and excellence. The schools will welcome students from every class and race and create an environment that fosters unity. The schools will also offer a level of academic excellence that will satisfy demanding families who have other educational options.

The Tapestry Project is led by Eric Grannis, an attorney who has helped several individuals apply for and found charter schools. Mr. Grannis has been an advisor on six charter school applications, all of which were approved, and was a founding board member in three instances: the Girls Preparatory Charter School of New York, the Girls Preparatory Charter School of the Bronx, and the Bronx Preparatory Charter School.
