About Us

The Boston University Clinical and Translational Science Institute (BU CTSI) develops and expands research programs for traditional academic departments and schools. The institute is a bridge between academic disciplines and supports Boston University’s commitment to translational research.

BU CTSI is funded by a National Institutes of Health (NIH) clinical and translational award, which creates an environment that links faculty, trainees and university programs. The goal of BU CTSI is to speed the translation of medical innovations that improve the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and to share these innovations with other university-based clinical and translational science awards.

BU CTSI supports the translation of ideas that begin in the clinic and that ultimately improve health care services. Our distinguished staff has formed partnerships with Boston’s community health centers and transformed clinical and translational research by reaching out to the community.
