Fundacion ALMA

Fundación ALMA, Inc. aims to make music and arts education accessible to disadvantaged children in rural and urban communities in Latin America and the Caribbean.

These disadvantages include: relative poverty (living on less than US$2 per day), special needs including but not limited to deafness and blindness, and abuse or neglect. In many cases these children do not have access to the education that could open doors to success later in life and do not experience the joy and satisfaction of participating in artistic activities. ALMA’s goal is to provide them with tools to enrich their educational experiences through music and the arts. ALMA’s projects encourage these children to succeed in all areas of education, giving them a creative outlet in order to strengthen their personal development, and thereby allowing them to later contribute to the development of the region as a whole.
