New Century Hospice of Richmond

About Us

Hospice Volunteer Opportunities: Patient Support, Family Member and Caregiver Support, Bereavement Support and Administrative Support.

Volunteers provide companionship to the patient and offer help through visiting, reading, taking walks, writing letters, listening to music and many other ways to enrich the life of the patient.

Volunteers can assist with shopping or stay with the patient permitting family caregivers time to themselves. Family members also appreciate a visit from a compassionate friend who understands what they are going through.

Hospice Volunteers can work closely with the professional bereavement staff in duties that range from assisting as a support group facilitator to serving refreshments.

A volunteer with clerical skills can serve a hospice by helping in the office with administrative duties, coordinating support services or making deliveries.

Regardless of where you choose to serve, we want you to know that your efforts are appreciated and much needed!
