About Us

Through education, advocacy, community and organizational coalition-building, and the use of social media, we seek to equip the disenfranchized with a voice that resonates within the hearts and minds of Illinois constituents. Drawing upon some of history's most successful grassroots movements -- Women's Suffrage, The Labor Movement and the African American Civil Rights Movement -- TCRA's ongoing efforts envision a state affected by civil liberties and justice that are truly for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

TCRA's mission is to maintain and increase individual rights for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) citizens in Illinois through inter-generational volunteerism and and community-driven project-based education, statewide coalition and network building, and leadership in supporting underserved communities with the necessary tools that will equip members of those communities with the resources and confidence to establish equality for all persons, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
