About Us
For 15 years, The Alliance for International Medical Action (ALIMA), has been transforming medical care in sub-Saharan Africa, providing critical treatment in emergency situations, while building up the region’s health systems for sustained care. Based in Dakar, ALIMA is a locally-led nonprofit that invests in homegrown talent, building capacity, medical research, and implementing treatment innovations to address the realities of the communities we serve.
To date, we’re proud to share that ALIMA has treated over 10 million patients — 80% of them women and children — conducted 40+ peer-reviewed studies, and garnered international recognition for our treatments of childhood malnutrition and Ebola.
