Center for Traditional Medicine

About Us

CTM staff and associates conduct research; design and implement clinical programs; develop and deliver training programs; and conduct program evaluations. We work with communities, tribal agencies, and non-governmental organizations and are always interested in collaborative projects.

Our work applies traditional medicine and indigenous knowledge systems such as ethnobotany, ancestral nutrition & mental health nutrition to address problems of chronic illnesses and cultural and historical trauma with indigenous and non-indigenous communities. This work bridges cultural wisdom with healing arts & sciences while integrating the indigenous, feminist, whole systems lenses. We also facilitate events and give talks on the application of traditional medicine methods to issues of cultural and historical trauma and chronic illnesses.

All of our efforts are directed toward the support and revitalization of traditional (indigenous) health, wellness and medical traditions worldwide. **
