Van Cougar

Van Cougar aims to remind the public of the importance of oral storytelling. Our goal is to collect recorded stories from all ages, races, genders, and geographic regions to compile an internet database for use by theater artists, video and sound artists and anthropologists. As a theater company, we wish to use the stories we have collected to create new, experimental work. We want to study the form of contemporary oral storytelling in order to challenge traditional forms of dramatic literature and create a more compelling, complete, interesting and shocking piece of theater.
