About Us

The “I Have A Dream” Foundation (IHDF) is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to motivate and empower children living in under resourced communities to reach their educational and career potential by providing a long-term program of academic support, mentoring, enrichment, and tuition support for higher education.

Launched by philanthropist Eugene M. Lang in 1981, The “I Have A Dream” Foundation is working to change a critical reality: in our nation today, less than 10% of students in low-income communities are expected to earn a college degree. Since the launch of “I Have A Dream” we have impacted the lives of nearly 17,000 low-income students across the county, providing them with guaranteed tuition support and equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities needed to gain entry to higher education and succeed in college and beyond.
