San Lucas Workers Center

  • About Us

The San Lucas Workers Center is home base to a bi-lingual, multi-racial Organizing Committee of U.S.-born and immigrant workers fighting abuses by day labor agencies in Chicago. Our goals are 1) stop the workplace abuses of day labor agency workers, and 2) to fight for better access to regular, family-supporting work. To do this, we use a combination of direct action, community pressure, press exposure, class action, public hearings, pressure on client companies, and pressure on government for better rights enforcement. We are currently targeting high-profile companies to contract only to agencies that have signed a Code of Conduct.
