Rich Fields Youth Network

RichFields Youth Network is a not-for- profit agency providing mentoring programs to youth in the Urban Community. The organization will form partnerships with local school districts, juvenile court systems and other youth serving organizations. RichFields Youth Network’s goal is to develop programs that promote strong interpersonal skills, coping skills, conflict resolution strategies, goal setting and life skills. Only through personal relationships can a sense of individual responsibility be reestablished that will give youth the commitment to follow through on a positive path towards adulthood with a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Through repeated failures in the traditional classroom setting and the influence of non-productive behaviors, at risk youth have lost faith and have few outlets to assist them in successfully putting their lives together.

RichFields Youth Network is an organization created to directly respond to the growing number of young people entering non-traditional school environments, who are already involved in the juvenile court system, and to serve as a preventative force in the lives of those who have not yet entered such environments. The organization will identify youth that may have a turbulent transition to adulthood and offer a positive support system to assist in preventing any pitfalls that may derail their lives. The approach may differ at each level but the goal remains the same; empower youth to make positive choices in life.

RichFields Youth Network will pair a youth with a mentor/case manager, team, and/or program for an initial 12 months. During that time the youth will participate in RichFields Youth Network programs, group meetings, and services. The youth will also participate in services offered by other youth serving organizations that will directly affect the youth’s confidence and outlook on life. Volunteer Mentors/ Case Managers will receive continuous training throughout the year and will participate in monthly meetings to report the youth’s progress and receive feedback from field professionals.

Over time RichFields Youth Network will create a learning environment and residential program that will be an invaluable resource to young people, aspiring mentors, and the community at large.
