    Waterfront Botanical Gardens (WBG) is a growing nonprofit organization located in the heart of Louisville, KY. Established in 1993, this 501(c) is dedicated to fostering a deeper connection between people and the wonders of nature. Our mission is to create a sustainable future for our community through the beauty of diverse plant collections and the tranquility of our stunning gardens.

    The gardens span over 22 acres, of which, approximately 4 acres is developed. The reclaimed landfill site includes the Graeser Family Education Center, Ellen T. Leslie Botanical Classrooms, Beargrass Creek Pathway, and an array of dedicated garden and gathering spaces. In 2022 WBG hosted approximately 40,000 visitors. With Phase 1 of the Master Plan completed, the new President & CEO will lead the organization, staff, and community into the next phases, which includes a Japanese Garden, Tree Allee, and Overlook.
