About Us
The Matthews House is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to empower young adults and families in transition who lack a significant support network by providing the resources and relationships necessary for them to take control of their lives and shape positive futures for themselves, while becoming successful contributors to their community. The Matthews House desires to break cyclic negative behavior patterns, prevent recidivism in underserved youth, break the cycle of generational poverty, and keep children in nurturing homes. This is accomplished through a relational, strength-based program that focuses on employment, education, safe and affordable housing, physical and mental health, and independent living and social skills development in order to help youth and families become healthy and self-sufficient.
