About Us

Our Mission is "Inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold" and "Inspirar a las niñas y a las jóvenes a ser seguras, inteligentes, y decididas." Our Vision is "Empowered girls in an equitable society."

We serve girls ages 5 – 18 at our center located on Hillside Avenue in Downtown Santa Fe. We provide research-based programming in safe, affordable and dependable out-of-school-time care, both after school and during school breaks, as well as several outreach programs. We are THE risk prevention and positive development organization for girls.

Our learning programs are experiential and fun. Girls often say that their time at Girls Inc. is when they feel the safest, both physically and emotionally. Learning is supported by field trips, community projects, arts and crafts, special mentoring and other techniques where girls experience the heritage, culture and diversity that make Santa Fe unique, as they interact with role models. Our research-based programs are developed by the Girls Inc. National Resource Center and other Girls Inc. affiliates, and are tailored to meet the needs of Santa Fe girls.

Our programs cover Careers and Life Planning, Health and Sexuality, Leadership and Community Action, Sports and Adventure, Self-Reliance and Life Skills, and Culture and Heritage.

In 2012, we worked with 221 unique girls. These girls participated in 90,015 service impact hours (an average of 407 hours per girl).
