Operation STOMP: Save Trees Over More Pavement is a not-for-profit, community-based organization of over one thousand local members. STOMP is dedicated to saving and preserving the 200+ healthy, decades-old trees on South Oyster Bay Road in Syosset, Plainview, Hicksville and Bethpage, New York (Long Island), slated for demolition. In addition, our organization is working to save the hundreds of unprotected, at-risk historical trees that line countless thoroughfares throughout Nassau County.
Our community-based organization is deeply rooted and committed to advocating for the employment of field-tested, well-researched, widely-used methods that allow for simultaneous sidewalk repair and tree preservation. In addition, also ensuring Long Island local government and municipalities utilize green, evidence-based practices to protect neighborhood aesthetics and the environment.
