    The mission of the New England Electric Railway Historical Society, the owner and operator of the Seashore Trolley Museum, is to preserve the heritage of the urban and interurban mass transit as a living resource for the benefit of the present and future generations. To fulfill this stated mission, the Corporation shall:

    Acquire and preserve historic transit vehicles and associated equipment, artifacts, papers, materials and property.

    Display and interpret the preserved vehicles, equipment, artifacts, papers, materials, and properties that are historical in nature.

    Promote the study of urban and interurban mass transit systems, particularly their vehicles, equipment, properties, and operations
