About Us

TEWS works with people whose lives are dominated by extreme poverty, illiteracy, disease and other handicaps. With multifaceted development intervention, TEWS strives to bring about positive change in the quality of life of the poor people of West Bengal. A group of local youth consisting of Rural Development Change Agents having considerable and varied experiences in development field joined their hands and established TEWS. TEWS has a long experience of mainstreaming village population through various education and training programmes for especially destitute and vulnerable youth and children. The organization has also implemented various vocational and entrepreneurship training programmes as well as livelihood generating programmes among the youths. In addition to education and training, TEWS has been working with over 500 youth and their families in the fields of health, sanitation and nutrition. TEWS firmly believes and is actively involved in promoting dignity and gender equity through poor people’s social, economical and human capacity building. TEWS endeavors to bring about changes at the level of national policy on poverty reduction, water and sanitation, financially and environmentally sustainable, using new methods and improved technologies.
