    Founded in 1896, the Peabody Historical Society & Museum is dedicated to preserving the history of Peabody through interpretive exhibits and programs in order to provide unique insight into the American experience. The Society’s extensive collections are of local and national significance and document 500 years of the region’s history. The Society maintains seven historic properties, an extensive library and archives, and a large collection of china, textiles, furniture, ephemera, and fine and decorative arts. The Society is supported by many dedicated volunteers and by generous contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations.
