    The Ellis County Historical Society Museum is currently housed in an historic church, part of which is a native stone chapel built in 1879 with the rest constructed of red brick laid between 1923 and 1926. (See web site for pictures and additional information, www.elliscountyhistoricalmuseum.org) The museum is located at 7th and Main in Hays, Kansas. Included on this half city block are the Fireman’s Museum, the Volga German house, a harness shop, and space for expansion.
