Small Schools for Equity

San Francisco, CA

  • About Us

Small Schools for Equity (SSE) is a community-based non-profit organization, started six years ago by teachers, parents and students in San Francisco's southeast neighborhoods. These community leaders were passionate about educational excellence and equity. They saw that existing public high schools serving their communities were not equipped to overcome students' powerful socio-economic obstacles to academic success – resulting in too many bright minds falling through the cracks, with African-American, Latino and English language learner students bearing the brunt of this inequity.
