    Young Playwrights Inc. was established to: identify and develop playwrights aged 18 and younger, involving them as active participants in the highest quality professional productions of their plays; insure that young theater artists are heard and acknowledged; develop new work for theater; promote the arts in basic education by facilitating the integration of playwriting into the curriculum; expose young people to the vital experience of professional theater and to the art of playwriting; develop and serve audiences that reflect the complex makeup of our society, thereby creating the next generation of theatergoers; serve as an advocate for young people regardless of ethnicity, gender, physical ability, sexual orientation, or economic status.
