About Us

CDTech’s mission is to build livable and economically sustainable communities among the neglected and marginalized areas and populations of Los Angeles. Our vision is to innovate, develop, and implement an agenda committed to racial equity and economic justice transforming the social, economic, and political conditions through community self-determination and strategic partnering. With 20 years of experience in South LA, CDTech combines grassroots participation with strategic policy understanding. CDTech creates community and economic development programs that incorporate deep insight into the actual needs, desires and capabilities of South LA residents and stakeholders. Since 2006, CDTech has implemented the Public Allies program as a key leadership and workforce development program to empower people and put them on pathways out of poverty through careers in the nonprofit sector.

The Public Allies program mission is to create a just and equitable society and the diverse leadership to sustain it. Public Allies is changing the face and practice of leadership in communities across the country by demonstrating its conviction that everyone can lead and that lasting social change results when citizens of all backgrounds step up, take responsibility, and work together. Public Allies' primary program model matches full-time apprentices with coaching, training and leadership development in 23 sites across the United States.
