About Us

LERP publishes Labor Notes, a monthly publication covering the labor movement from a rank-and-file, grassroots point of view. We seek to "put the movement back in the labor movement" by supporting rank and file organizing for workplace rights and union democracy. We believe that working people have the smarts and the values to gain fairness on the job and in society, by working together; that solidarity can be built across borders and across racial, gender, and cultural lines; and that unions are the best way to make this happen. But today's unions need a healthy dose of new democracy and grassroots organizing to meet this potential. We work with a network of reformers and activists across the U.S. and in other countries. Activities include a monthly newsletter, plus books, schools and conferences.
