The Vermont Institute on Health and Wellness
The Vermont Institute on Health and Wellness is a one-week, residential experience where high school students discover how to achieve optimal wellness, learn about health-care careers, and become leaders in their communities.
The Vermont Institute on Health and Wellness (VIHW), a Vermont nonprofit organization, develops in Vermont’s youth commitment and passion for understanding healthy relationships to food and fitness.
Graduates of VIHW will be agents of change in their high schools and communities. They will carry with them empowering knowledge of nutrition, fitness, body awareness, and emotional well-being. They will be connected to local leaders in these fields and to a support network of like-minded peers. The work they do as educators of their families, peers, and school communities in Vermont will transform recent cultural trends toward unhealthy and dangerous lifestyles into a culture of informed, confident young leaders.
