  • About Us

The ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Group (ECOG-ACRIN) is a multidisciplinary, membership-based scientific organization that designs and conducts biomarker-driven cancer research involving adults who have or are at risk of developing cancer. ECOG-ACRIN consists of a headquarters location in Philadelphia, Pa., and several fully staffed centers and offices, all of which oversee the governance, operations, membership, and scientific programs of the Group. These include two biostatistics and data management centers located at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, Ma., and Brown University, Providence, R.I., and two operations offices located at the Frontier Science & Technology Research Foundation, Boston, Ma., and the American College of Radiology Clinical Research Center, Philadelphia, Pa. Together these offices serve nearly 650 member institutions in the U.S. and around the world. Approximately 6,000 physicians, translational scientists, and associated research professionals from the member institutions are involved in Group research, along with patient representative members who bring the patient voice to the development of ECOG-ACRIN science. Group research is organized into three scientific programs: Cancer Control and Outcomes, Therapeutic Studies and Biomarker Sciences. ECOG-ACRIN is supported primarily through research grant funding from the National Cancer Institute, but also receives funding from private sector organizations through philanthropy and collaborations. PrECOG LLC, a not-for-profit company, partners with ECOG-ACRIN and industry to develop and conduct clinical trials in all areas of oncology.

What is the Frontier Science? Frontier Science is a non-profit research foundation established in 1975 to advance the application of statistical science and practice and data management techniques in science, health care, and education.
