Congaree Land Trust (CLT) is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1992 with a mission to promote the conservation of scenic lands, open spaces, farms, forests, natural areas, and significant habitats in central South Carolina. CLT currently holds over 90,000 acres under conservation & agricultural easements within its 15-county area of operation and has acquired and transferred over 350 acres to SCPRT for public recreation.
In 2012, Congaree Land Trust received National Accreditation from the Land Trust Accreditation Commission. Accredited land trusts meet national quality standards, uphold the public trust, and ensure that conservation efforts are permanent.
