Hands-On Language

About Us

Hands-On Language is a language immersion program that uses hands-on activities to facilitate learning. We believe that an optimal learning environment is one that is alive with playfulness and support. Each class is based on a specific theme and students build vocabulary and sentence construction through a variety of activities including arts+crafts, games, songs and stories. Our arts+crafts projects double as language learning tools for students to continue practicing with at home. We embrace the unique participation of every child and are dedicated to offering language learning environments that are creative, encouraging and fun.

Internships: We keep our teacher:student ratio at about 1:4 so that kids get plenty of attention and have a 12 student max per class. In order to make this happen, we rely on community support and offer internships to folks who want to learn our methodology of teaching language through creativity and practice Spanish. Internships are tailored to meet the needs and interests of each person.

Schedule: Classes meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:15-4:15.

Location: Atkinson elementary, 5800 SE Division St, Portland
