About Us

The Albatross Foundation (Fundación Ecológica Albatros) is a non-profit, community-based organization, which was initiated and is led by residents of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, the administrative capital of the Galapagos province of Ecuador. The Albatross Foundation is committed to the protection of the Galapagos land and marine environments and the diversity of the islands’ unique ecosystems through an educational project which aims to equip the youth of the Galapagos with the enthusiasm, commitment and scientific knowledge that they will need to play a full and constructive role in the future of the Galapagos Islands.

Our organization has played an important role so far on the development of education and environmental awareness. We have established ties with with international partners to achieve our goals and we are always open to new ideas and partnerships.

We are actively looking to involve motivated individuals from all over the world in our programs. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in making social change while helping minimize environmental impact in developing economies at the same time.

We offer volunteer programs and academic programs as well. Our academic programs enable graduate and undergraduate participants get first hand experience on current events.

Most young and adult alike find it difficult to explore the Galapagos Islands due to the high cost of logistics and living expenses. We are experts at tailoring programs that are affordable, enjoyable and provide worthwhile enriching experiences.
