The San Francisco Liberal Voter Project is a regionally based voter engagement non-profit that trains and empowers culturally competent, year round outreach staff to talk to San Francisco voters with the goal of increasing voter turnout of Liberal voters in San Francisco.
Our method is simple: studies show dramatic increases in voter turnout when voters are registered to vote by mail. Using classic canvassing methods, we teach our staff to dynamically approach the field so we can identify a base of already registered Permanent Absentee Voters, while also registering new Permanent Absentee Voters.
Our overall goal is to develop a stronger base of Liberal voters in San Francisco through identifying voters based on their interest in local and national politics.
The canvass is run through the week, and on one weekend, and is broken down into five hour shifts (M-Thurs. evenings, and Saturday Mornings), and pays $20.00. This an ideal position for students, and friends with an interest in San Francisco regionally politics. No past experience is required, but we are looking for canvassers with a strong commitment. Reliability is a must. Members of the communities of Color, women, and the LGBTQ community are highly encouraged to apply. Bilingual skills a huge plus.
