Orleans County Cornell Cooperative Extension

  • About Us

Orleans County Cornell Cooperative Extension is a cooperative effort to provide relevant, accessible, research-based information to grow confident youth and successful farms & gardens for a strong and healthy Orleans community.

Our 4-H Youth Development Program provides many opportunities for youth to grow into confident, caring citizens through year round educational programs and events. In addition to our showcase of 4-H, the Orleans County 4-H Fair, programs include Food Preservation, Alien Invaders – a youth approach to invasive species, Holiday Faire, and the 4-H Clubs led by volunteer leaders.

Our Agriculture Program continues to support the diverse agricultural industry that is so vital to Orleans County. Because of the rich diversity of our agriculture, we participate in three regional commodity teams, the Lake Ontario Fruit Program, the Cornell Vegetable Program, and the Northwest New York Dairy, Livestock, and Field Crop Program.

Successful Orleans County homes and gardens find our Horticulture staff and volunteer Master Gardeners a valuable resource. Educational programs and the Hotline provide information and answers to gardening and insect questions.
