About Us

At the Child Development Unit, we are interested in studying an infant's behavior and development, and how mothers interact with their babies over time. Each day, infants confront normal social emotional events and environmental stimuli.

But do they remember these social events and for how long do they remember them?

That is one question we have been asking ourselves in our research over the years. Researchers and scientists such as Freud, or those closer to us in particular such as Dr. T. Berry Brazelton, and our own Edward Tronick, PhD, have dedicated their lives to such research in the fields of infant social and emotional development.

We hope that the data we are continuously acquiring in our lab will help to further address these unanswered questions and contribute to mother and infant well-being in the future.
