About Us

The Sonoma Valley Museum of Art is a magnet of creative energy and cultural inspiration. Its exhibitions and educational programs engage the community in the art and ideas of our time, encouraging curiosity and innovation.

Along with outstanding exhibitions of modern and contemporary art, the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art (SVMA) has an active and diverse year-round event schedule that includes exhibition openings for museum members, educational and social events for adults and young people, volunteer recognition and recruitment parties, special fundraising projects and events, and facility rentals. Additionally, the Museum has an artists-in-schools program—A.R.T.S. (Art Rewards the Student) for all 4th- and 5th-grade students in Sonoma Valley. Annually SVMA welcomes over 800 students, parents, and teachers on specially guided visits. SVMA also has an 1800-volume art reference library that is open to everyone.
