About Us

The Volunteer in Cambodia program recruits volunteers to teach at Conversations with Foreigners (CWF), a local conversational English-language centre in Phnom Penh. There is no fee to join the program.

Established in 2006 with the help of an AusAID VIDA grant, our volunteers and students form a unique model of learning and cultural exchange to raise money for the Cambodian Rural Development Team (CRDT), a local non-government organisation (LNGO) working to improve livelihoods in rural communities, and promote ecologically sustainable development to protect Cambodia's critically endangered wildlife.

Since 2006, CWF has rasied more than US$100,000 for CRDT by providing low cost converstational English classes taught by international volunteers. This model of social enterprise, learning, and volunteerism is unique, and helps ensure the sustainability of fundraising for CRDT to continue their important work.
