About Us

The Alden House Historic Site and the property upon which it rests are part of the original land grant given to Mayflower pilgrims John and Priscilla Mullins Alden in 1627.  Step into their true story as we share this history spanning nearly 400 years and their legacy at the National Historic Landmark The Alden House Historic Site located in coastal Duxbury, Massachusetts.

The Alden House Historic Site was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2008 by the United States Department of the Interior, and serves as a museum and meeting place for history enthusiasts, Alden descendants and those who wish to explore early American history and heritage. Our mission is to provide the local and virtual programs that bring history to life through educational and recreational experiences in the very place where early American history happened through preservation, exhibition and outreach.
