  • About Us

The mission of TRiO Student Support Services is to increase opportunities for first-generation college students from low-income families and students with disabilities to graduate from Laney College and continue their education at a four-year college. Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, TRiO SSS at Laney College works with 140 students per year. Being a part of a smaller program allows students more one-on-one time and personalized advising. As a result, students receive individualized and intensive services designed to enhance their academic and personal development.

TRiO SSS at Laney College maintains the origins of TRiO history, which emerged from the struggle for civil rights. We believe that education holds the possibility for personal, communal, and societal change.
